Short Throwing Course - March 2024
March sat 2nd,9th,16th,23rd at 10-12 am
We will be starting from basics, learning to condition (wedging) our clay and prep for throwing, learning to centre the clay, and then moving on to pulling up. Turning, trimming our pots and finally glazing some of your finished pieces.
Throwing is a complex craft to learn. It is messy, humbling and can be frustrating, but it is a craft and can be mastered if you are prepared to put in the hours. There is no wrong way, and you will be learning a lot about this material ‘clay’, which has obsessed me since childhood.
In this 4-week course I hope to give you the basis to start you off on a long journey and a rewarding hobby.
NB. Long nails make it almost impossible to throw.
Aprons are provided, but you might want to wear clothes that you don’t mind getting a little messy.
Course £150 pp
Booking essential only 4 spaces per course.
Any items not collected after 6 months will be disposed of.
